My Oscar Night 2016

Did you watch the Oscars last night?
Like every year, I spent the night at my I favourite cinema in Vienna (Gartenbaukino) and had such a great time. Thanks to the time difference that meant staying up till 6 am, but it was totally worth it. Good thing that on Oscar night they always serve coffee for free all night and at 3 am everybody also gets free breakfast. Additional to that, there's an Oscar bet where you get the chance to win all kinds of things, and if you come in evening dress you also get a free drink. Though I never do that because honestly, who wants to spend the whole night at the cinema in a fancy dress and high heels? I'm alway going for comfortable, as do most of the other people there. Doesn't this sound all great? Well, it is.
But the day (or night) is not just about watching the Oscars; it 's also about watching films that are nominated.

That's how the program looked this year:

4 PM | AMY
6:30 PM | SON OF SAUL

Some people go hardcore with watching all the films and the award show, but as much as I love film and going to the cinema, I couldn't do that. You'd have to spend 18 hours there. 18! That's A LOT!
I just went to see the short films and Mad Max.

So, what are your thoughts on the winners? I’m pretty happy actually.

Leonardo DiCaprio finally got his Oscar so everybody can chill now.
Alejandro González Iñárritu is such a great director (I loved Birdman and Biutiful) so it was well deserved that he won the second time in a row, this time for The Revenant. The same goes for Emmanuel Lubezki (Best Cinematography). They make a great team.
No surprise that Inside Out won Best Animated Feature Film but Anomalisa is the winner of my heart. A masterpiece.
Mark Rylance was quite a surprise, and I would have preferred Tom Hardy for Best Supporting Actor (he was killing it in The Revenant), but oh well.
I still can’t believe that Mad Max: Fury Road went home with the most Oscars (6!), but it makes me so happy. What a fantastic movie. #TeamMadMax
Also, yay for The Big Short (Best Adapted Screenplay). Another excellent film with an amazing screenplay. And Ryan Gosling is in it *cough*.

The only thing I strongly disagreed with was Best Original Song. Don’t get me wrong; I love Sam Smith. He is a great singer and seems to be such a nice guy, but THAT AWFUL BOND SONG. Urgh.

All in all, it was a great night, but I need some sleep now!

Finding The Right Planner #1: Erin Condren LifePlanner

Finding the right planner can improve your life.

Being organised has always been very important for me. Over the past couple of years, I tried out different planners, and I can tell you - finding the right one for you can make such a difference to your everyday planning. It’s so much more fun to sit down and plan your week with a planner that fits all your needs and has a design to your liking.

I’m currently using the Erin Condren LifePlanner, which is the one I want to talk about today.

They have a big SALE at the moment: -40% off all LifePlanners! Don't miss it!

Here the details about the Erin Condren LifePlanner:

  • 12 or 18 months
  • 178/234 pages
  • 7.25“ x 9.25“
  • interchangeable cover
  • snap-in bookmark
  • durable 2 sided pocket folder
  • choose between vertical, horizontal or hourly weekly layout
  • customisable
  • perpetual calendar for birthdays/anniversaries

I use the vertical weekly layout because it gives me the most space to write and organise my days. You can use the three sections for morning, day and night (that’s how I do it) or school, work, to do, e.g. Whatever works best for you.

As you can see in the pictures, I customised the cover of my Erin Condren LifePlanner (you can do that for free!), so it now has my name on it and is really unique.

The planner comes with stickersbut I also purchased some extra ones because they come in so handy and fit perfectly in the boxes of the vertical weekly layout. I use blank ones, but Erin Condren gives you the option to also customise your stickers. If you, for example, go to yoga class each Tuesday, you could get stickers with „Yoga Class“ on it or whatever you want them to say.

Talking about stickers, you should check out Oh, Hello Stationary Co. on Etsy. I buy almost all of my stickers there. They are super cute!

Another thing I really like about the Erin Condren LifePlanner is that it’s so colourful and positive (it has lots of beautiful quotes in it). And thanks to the interchangeable cover I don’t have to stick to one look. I own three different covers at the moment, but I’m definitely planning to buy some more.

Are you interested in getting an Erin Condren LifePlanner for yourself? Go to and give it a look. You can find lots of other cool stuff there as well.

Subscribe to my blog to make sure you won't miss the next part in this series where I will be talking about another planner!

The #1 Podcast for every Pretty Little Liars fan

Do you like Pretty Little Liars? I only started watching the show when season 4 aired because a friend strongly recommended it. Til that day I thought it's just another teenage high school drama that I don't need in my life. Oh was I wrong. I then basically binge-watched the first three seasons and became totally addicted to the show.

For some reason, I stopped watching after season 5 and only got into it again now. It had nothing to do with the show; I guess I was just too busy and forgot about it. But I’m currently catching up on season 6, so far I’m three episodes in.

At the beginning of 2015, I got really into podcasts, and that was when I discovered the Bros Watch PLL Too podcast. Guys, it’s absolutely amazing! If you don’t know it yet, and you’re a fan of Pretty Little Liars, please check it out.

Those two guys are so much fun to listen to. They recap every episode in such an informative and entertaining way; I could listen to them all day. Occasionally they also do Interviews with people who are in some way involved in Pretty Little Liars. I just listened to their interview with Troian Bellisario, who plays Spencer Hastings (my favourite!), and it was fantastic.

So please give it a go, I’m sure you’ll love it!
You can also visit their website and follow them on Twitter @BrosWatchPLLToo
