Some Of My Favourite ESSIE Nail Polish Colours

I love nail polish and essie is one of my favourite brands when it comes to colours and quality. By now I have a good collection of essie nail polishes for every season and occascion. My all time favourite colour is cocktail bling, a nice bluish grey that goes very well with my wardrobe and is wearable in every season.

Down below you can find some of my other favourites that I wouldn't want to miss.
Pret-a-surfer and mint candy apple are perfect for spring/summer, angora cardi is my autumn favouite, tassel shaker a must-have for chrirstmas season.
Ballet slippers is my second favourite essie colour, the sheer glossy finish looks amazing. It's the perfect nude everyday nail polish. Whenever I want something more shiny, cabana boy is my choice.
And of course there's really read because every girl needs an amazing red nail polish. It's exactly what the name says, a beautiful rich red.

What are your favourite essie colours? Tell me in the comments!

00's Playlist - Bring Back The Memories!

Some days I wake up and I'm like "How can it be 2016 already??". Is it just me or do you sometimes feel like that too? Time flies, guys, time flies. But they say nothing brings memories back like a song does, so I've created a 00's playlist with some of my favourite songs from 2000-2009. I'm sure I forgot loads of great ones, but I'm sticking with this list for now
Of course, I'm not saying that these songs are the ultimate best of the 00's, just my personal taste and what I was listening to a lot back then.
Hope you enjoy the playlist!

How many of these songs do you know?
Leave me a comment and tell me about your favourite songs of the 00's and the memories attached to those!

Online Grocery Shopping - Smart or Just Lazy?

This is something I've been thinking about since the other day. Let me say first that I’ve never bought groceries online so this whole concept is pretty new to me. Of course, I know that a lot of people are doing this regularly and it’s an absolutely normal thing by now but online grocery shopping has never been in any way part of my life. I wasn’t even thinking about it. But then stuff happened and now I’m kinda thinking about it all the time. It’s actually freaking me out, to be honest, but let’s start from the beginning.

So what happened is that I needed a lot of stuff for this weekend. I mean not A LOT a lot but maybe more than usual. The other thing is that I don’t have a car or someone who is willing to carry my groceries for me. Naturally, I was pretty pissed by the thought that I might have to go to the grocery story TWICE. Because yes, I am lazy. Or just easily annoyed by stuff like that.

So Online Grocery Shopping came to my mind and I went online to check my options. It only took me a few minutes to become really excited about this whole new world that had just opened to me. I started to browse the different categories and put lots of things in my shopping cart. All of that happened with a big smile on my face. Those, like, 30 minutes of my life were fabulous, but in the end, I just couldn’t go through with it.

But before I tell you why, let’s have a look at the pros and cons of online grocery shopping.

Pros of Online Grocery Shopping:

  • You don’t have to leave your home.
  • You also don’t have to carry all the (possibly heavy) stuff you’ve bought to your home.
  • No waiting in line at the checkout.
  • Stupid impulse buys are less likely.
  • There are usually more products available online.
  • You can literally lie in bed and take all your time to browse through the pages.
  • You know exactly how much you’ll have to pay so there won’t be any surprises at the checkout.
  • You don’t have to deal with other (often grumpy) customers.
  • It's less likely that you forget to buy anything you need (something that happens to me all the time if I'm not writing down a shopping list before going to the grocery store).

Cons of Online Grocery Shopping:

  • Not going to the grocery store to buy a big tub of ice cream but now actually getting it delivered might make you feel extremely guilty (or incredibly happy, depending on your personality).
  • FRUITS AND VEGS - I want to see what I'm going to buy, and as long as grocery stores can’t provide me with a picture of the EXACT apple they’re going to send me, I can’t buy it. Like I’m one of those annoying people who have to look at every single apple to find the most perfect one.
  • You might have to pay for delivery.

You can see I have a hard time coming up with reasons that really speak against online grocery shopping. Well, in the end, I didn’t place an order because I didn’t want to pay for delivery. It’s as simple as that. There’s a grocery store about three minutes away from my place. Yeah, I know, only three minutes and I was still considering this, but I’ve told you already that, in fact, I am lazy.

It was only after a few hours that I’ve started to think about it. Like, really think about the entire concept of online grocery shopping, and that was basically the beginning of this whole mess. If you don’t want to hear my crazy thoughts, please stop reading here.

Why do we want to buy our groceries online?

I’m not going to tell you about it in detail because you’d probably think I’m completely losing it, but my thoughts went something like this:

  • So now we buy groceries online
  • Humans do a lot of stuff online these days, think online dating or job interviews via Skype
  • Do humans hate face to face conversations with other humans?
  • In Ready Player One they actually went to school and work in a virtual world
  • Nobody had to leave the  house anymore
  • Why?? I don’t get why people want this!
  • That must be so boring
  • If people always stay home and sit in front of their computers all the time - will they forget how to walk eventually?
  • Or will they have robot bodies?
  • Then what’s the difference really between a human and a robot?
  • Ex Machina
  • Maybe there are already living A.I. (AIs, A.I.s, how do you spell this?) among us and we don’t know
  • Maybe they’ve made online grocery shopping become a thing
  • How scary
  • Online grocery shopping is scary!!

You see, I can go crazy with this stuff. I don’t think that online grocery shopping is evil. I’m looking at my list of pros right now and believe that it could make such a different to some people. Not people like me really, but maybe a single mother with three little kids and no car.

Why exactly I’m so freaked out by that, I can’t say. I mean, I order pizza all the time and what’s the difference really? That doesn’t make me feel bad or scared. On the contrary, a world without pizza delivery would make me incredibly sad. Just imagine!

I don’t have made up my mind about this topic yet. In the end, the big question I’m still asking myself is:

Are we really smart or just fucking lazy?

Please leave me a comment and tell me what you think about this. And please don't take this post too seriously.

BookTubers You Should Watch If You Are A Book Nerd Like Me

You probably know by now that I love books. Reading is one of my biggest hobbies and this wonderful community called BookTube has made it even better. Thanks to it I've got so many great recommendations and met the loveliest people. I could literally spend whole days watching bookish videos on YouTube and wouldn't get bored.

Making a list of my favourite BookTubers was much harder than I thought it would be. There are so many great YouTubers out there who dedicated their channels to books, naming them all would probably take me forever. However, down below you can find some of the ones I watch regularly and absolutely love.

Please check those people out, they are all amazing. And if you know a great BookTuber I haven't mentioned, please tell me in the comments. I'm always happy to discover new channels.

Awesome BookTubers to watch

Mercedes (MercysBookishMusings)

Mercedes is my absolute favourite BookTuber. Her taste is very similar to mine and thanks to her I’ve found so many great books that I enjoyed but have never heard of before. She reads mostly literary fiction, magical realism and short story collections. Occasionally she also holds a fantasy book or fairytale retelling in the camera. She is a very critical reader (another thing we have in common), but that makes her reviews even more interesting.

Max (WellDoneBooks)

Max is my favourite male BookTuber I’d say. He, too, reads mostly literary fiction but also a lot of other stuff. I don’t know what it is about Max but I just love hearing him talk. His reviews are one of the few that I always watch because he tells just the right amount of information about a book without giving anything away. But also enough to make me want to read (almost) everything he holds in the camera.

Jen (Jen Campbell)

Jen has a fabulous name to begin with and also really great taste in books. She’s not only a passionate reader but an excellent writer too. Here is a list of her published books you should check out. She talks a lot about poetry but is also a really good tip if you’re looking for literary fiction recommendations. Another thing I can highly recommend is her podcast Books With Jen where she does interviews with authors and lots of other cool stuff.

Jean (Jean Bookish Thoughts)

Jean has a real talent for making you want to read all the greek and latin classics and pick up more non-fiction books (though she reads lots of other books as well). She occasionally hosts classical literature read-alongs and also has a feminist book club called The Feminist Orchestra you should check out. One of her most recent videos is an introduction to Sherlock Holmes, which is absolutely amazing.

Lauren (Reads and Daydreams)

Lauren, again, reads mostly literary fiction but to be honest, I would even watch her videos if she would talk exclusively about romance novels (not a big fan of those). She has this very calming voice and her videos feel very warm and cosy if that makes any sense. And she does a cool video series called Page to Screen where she compares books with their film adaptations.

Rincey (rincey reads)

What I love most about Rincey's channel is the diversity of her reading. One week she talks about a book I’ve never heard of before and the next she’s discussing a classic or bestseller. But whatever her topic is, her videos are always interesting and fun to watch.

Amanda (Amanda Center)

Watching Amanda’s videos just makes me happy. She’s sweet and funny and never fails to put a smile on my face. Her reading taste is a little bit of everything, and usually excellent. Oh and she also has a thing for cats, do I need to say more? If you like books and want to have a good time, please head over to Amanda’s channel. You’re welcome.

Elizabeth (books and pieces)

Elizabeth is the queen of science fiction. Her videos are so well done, informative and fun and her personality is just amazing. Even if you think that genre isn’t for you, please check out her channel. I didn’t know sci-fi could be that much fun till I stumbled over her videos and found the best recommendations there. You can get some fantasy on her channel as well.

Thomas (SFF180)

If Elizabeth is the queen, Thomas is the king of sci-fi (and fantasy). Very recently he did a video called "Where to Start SF", which I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a way of getting into the genre but you don’t know where to start. Again he is a person I could easily listen to for hours without getting tired of hearing him talk about books.

And if you’re like me and can never get enough of BookTube, also check out these wonderful people:

Vanessa - chboskyy
Lorna - suddenlylorna
Brock - Let’s Read

I hope you liked my recommendations! Do you watch any of those BookTubers? Know a channel you think I'd enjoy? Please leave me a comment and tell me about it!

Rock Show Outfit Inspiration

I love music festivals and concerts and have been to so many in my life, I can’t even count them anymore. Last night I went to a The 1975 show (it was so much fun!), and I’m going to see Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds tonight. Can’t tell you how excited I am to see Noel again. I saw him with his band last year in Paris and the show was amazing. I’ve always been a huge Oasis fan and Noel’s my favourite Gallagher brother of course. He’s so talented!

The big question before every concert I’m attending is always what to wear. Today I want to share with you some of my favourite rock show outfits. Hope you like them!
Leave me a comment and tell me what you think of those styles!
