April is here and that means it’s time for another playlist. It’s so warm and sunny outside today, it feels like summer already. That really brightens up my mood. Like last month, the playlist is a mix of old and new songs. I hope you like them!
Brian Fallon - RosemarySome of you might know Brain Fallon from Gaslight Anthem or one of his other projects. His solo album Painkillers came out last month and, so far, Rosemary is my favourite song on it. It’s a really fun rock song.
Stereolove - SatelliteStereolove is a German pop rock band with an Irish singer. Satellite is from their album Boy A, which was released in June 2015. I don’t know what it is about Satellite, I just really like the song. It has a great chorus.
ZAYN - dRuNkTo be honest, I couldn’t care less when Zayn left One Direction; I’m not really into boy bands in general. I've always thought he had a great voice though and was curious what he would do solo. When he released his first single Pillowtalk, I was quite surprised. Didn’t sound so bad. No wonder he left if this is the music he always wanted to make. At the end of March, his album Mind of Mine came out, and it’s not bad. On the contrary, it’s actually quite good. Who would have thought? For sure not me.
The Summer Set - Missin’ You/Wonder YearsTheir new album Stories Of Monday was released only a few days ago and it’s such a great spring/summer record with lots of amazing tunes on it. I couldn’t decide which song to pick for my April playlist so I went with two, Missin’ You and Wonder Years. Make sure you check out the whole record.
Circa Waves - Stuck in My TeethI discovered Circa Waves at the beginning of last year and now it's one of my favourite bands. Their debut album Young Chasers came out in March 2015 and every single song on it is brilliant. I saw them live back in November 2015, and let me tell you, they rock! Stuck In My Teeth might not be my absolute favourite song on the record (though it’s a really good one of course), but I’m in the mood for it at the moment and it's a great song for springtime. Make sure you also check out the music video; it’s so fun.
Joshua Radin - Don’t look awayThe oldest song on the list. It’s actually from Joshua Radin’s first EP First Between 3rd and 4th which was released in 2004. You can listen to it here on YouTube. It's a nice, catchy pop song; perfect for this playlist.
